mt × vitra

Washi tape ‘mt’ is a derivative commodity from masking tape which is usually used in construction site. As its various colors and patterns, ‘mt’ got popular to decorate things and developed a new market as a nifty and useful gadget.

Many promotional exhibitions have been held worldwide and this is the one in Vitra, Germany. Our aim was to offer customers extraordinary experience through ‘mt’, so the site hunting was most important task for us. The venue was Buckminster Fuller’s dome that was built using triangle parts. So I requested the client to produce a triangle shaped tapes. While we sold them on the site, hanged them from the ceiling and created a unique installation. There was a reception party for the affiliates of Vitra, we succeeded in introducing ‘mt’ to hip people. They enjoyed the workshop that they can use the tapes freely.
