瀬戸内海に浮かぶ小さな島、粟島。今は廃校となってしまった島で唯一の小学校を会場にmt ex展が開催されました。島へ渡る船、桟橋をmtで装飾、風景とのコントラストを際立たせるとともに、会場への期待感を醸成させるべく、エントランスからメイン会場である音楽室や給食室までの廊下、階段、窓に至るまで装飾を徹底しました。音楽室では天井からの♪のオーナメントとともにmtで彩られたグランドピアノ、木琴、アコーディオン、大太鼓などを展示。給食室はショップに仕立て、給食の配膳に使用していたアルマイトの籠やお盆などを販売用の什器として再利用しました。屋上へもmtのカーペットで導き、より印象的な海の眺めを演出するために、屋上にもカラフルなストライプを配しました。
Washi tape’s promotional exhibition ‘mtex’ was held in an abolished school in a small island in Setouchi. The boat to the island, the pier and the wave-dissipating blocks were wrapped by ‘mt’ and directed visitors to the exhibition. The music room was used for the installation, many decorated instruments were placed and the note-shaped objects were hanged from the ceiling. The lunch room was transformed into a shop where visitors enjoyed souvenir shopping.
